Eugene T. "Gene" Schumaker, Sr.,
79 of Lima, Ohio died on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at 9:05P.M. surrounded by his family at his residence in Lima, Ohio.
Born Monday, March 7, 1932 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Herbert Schumacher and the late Alice Hovest Schumacher.
He was employed by self employed as an auto body repairman.
Mr. Schumaker was a member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church. He belonged to the Lima Eagles Aerie #370 and the Lima Moose Lodge. He loved buying and restoring antique Farmall Tractors going for long drives, dancing and feeding his birds.
Surviving are sons, Kathy (Mike) Hanes, Eugene T. "Skip" Schumaker, Jr. of Lima, OH, Krista (Mark) Nusbaum of Lima, Ohio, Martin Schumaker of Lima, OH, Shelly ( Gary Zynda) Schumaker of Ottawa, OH., Joe Schumaker of Lima, OH and Jay Schumaker of Lima, OH: eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren; seven sisters, Audrey (Thomas Ruthman of Cincinnati, OH, Gladys (Gary ) Reese, Lima, OH,, Evelyn (Norm) Schroeder, Ottawa, OH, Ruth (James) Wannemaker of Ottoville, OH, Blanche (James) Geisgie of Columbus Grove, OH, Sharon (Thomas) Hayden of Columbus Grove, OH, Sheila (David) Thornton of Columbus Grove, OH: one brother Herbert (Agnes) Schumaker of Columbus Grove, OH; former wife Peggy Schumaker; sister-in-law Luella Schumaker.
He was predeceased by brothers, Joseph Schumaker, William Schumaker and Claude Schumaker; a special friend Ginny Gauggel
Visitation: Monday, January 23, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with a Rosary Service at 7:30 P.M.
Mass of Christian Burial: Will be at St. Gerard's Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Michael Houston officiating
Interment: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Columbus Grove, Ohio
